Arriving in Superdevoluy , where the last stage of Critérium du Dauphiné should be in June, we decided to plan a 95K ride with more than 3000 m elevation gain and two big climbs - Sanctuaire de Notre-Dame de la Salette ( 1800 m AMSL) and the Col du Noyer ( 1664 m AMSL ). The ride was started with a long descent from the Superdevoluy ski station but with small climbs and the first 25 km was overpassed quickly through villages and amazing Lac du Sautet . The first stop was in Crops, where I’ve found a few brochures in the tourist center with cycling routes in Isere. ( download ).
The 14 km climb with 900m elevation gain to the Sanctuaire de Notre-Dame de la Salette was started in Corps. Before Notre-Dame (the last 1-2 kilometers) gradient became higher and it was really hard to finish this last kilometres. On the top be sure to fill your bottles with water from the Source de la Vierge and spend a few minutes thinking about something.
After descending to Corps on the Route Napoléon (N85) and 15 kilometers before a turn to Le Noyer, a climb to Col Du Noyer was began.
